Spring has officially shown up in Santa Barbara! As much as we’re enjoying this perfect weather, maybe you’re craving a little getaway that doesn’t involve the airport (even though ours is basically the size of a postage stamp). We’re feeling so damn lucky to be surrounded by some amazing weekend escape spots—all just a few hours away.
Here are a few of my favorite go-to places when I need a quick reset, some sunshine, and maybe a glass of wine (or two).
🌿 Ojai – Spa days, antique shops, breweries & delicious food
Ojai has it all—adorable antique shops, great beer, the perfect setting for a spa day, and even live music in the evenings.
Perfect day: Start with a coffee at The Dutchess, then wander the cute shops in town (don’t miss Bart’s Books—it’s an outdoor bookstore!). Now how about massages? If you’re feeling fancy, head to the Ojai Valley Inn, but if you're after something more low-key (but still amazing), we love The Day Spa of Ojai.
Drinks & dinner: Grab a beer at Topa Topa, then head to Ojai Rôtie for dinner—it’s casual, delicious, and always hits the spot.
🍷 Los Olivos – Wine tasting & lazy afternoons
Rolling vineyards, farm animals, and endless wine… what more could you ask for?!
Perfect day: If you're up early, Bob’s Well Bread is 100% worth the wait. If you have a later start to your day, head straight to Bar Le Côte for lunch—make a reservation! The food is incredible. After that, sip your way through some charming tasting rooms—Liquid Farm and Carhartt Vineyard are always solid picks.
Stay: Our favorite spot for the night is the Fess Parker Inn—amazing service, cozy and adorable rooms. If you want more space (and your budget allows), check out The Inn at Mattei’s Tavern, which recently reopened and is absolutely stunning. We just stop in for a drink!
The next day: On your way home via the 101, swing by Industrial Eats for the best lunch you've ever had! Then drive down to Folded Hills Farmstead to sip wine, feed the pigs, goats, and cows, and enjoy those final vacation feels.
🌊 Morro Bay – Sea otters, foggy mornings & salty air
This one's got a moody, coastal vibe that I love. Morro Rock is iconic, but it’s the quiet mornings and quirky shops that always win me over.
Perfect day: Walk the Embarcadero with a coffee from Top Dog, check out the sea otters lounging in the bay, maybe rent a bike and explore the nearby trails.
Eat: Dorn’s for an old-school seafood diner with a view, or keep it casual with fish tacos from Taco Temple.
We all know Santa Barbara is paradise, but there’s a whole lot of beauty just beyond it too!!
Let me know if you go—I want pics! :)
